Natural Finishes

Because we build each piece from solid hardwoods, the character and color of the boards we use will vary slightly. Depending on the species, some may even have small imperfections or knots. In order to reduce our waste and to honor the unique beauty of each piece, we often leave these in and stabilize with epoxy, or better yet, inlay a dutchman (square patch) or a bow tie.

Our preferred finish is Osmo Polyx. It’s a multi-coat, hard wax and oil blend with a satin sheen that we apply by hand. It’s all natural (very low VOC) and very durable. Osmo is low maintenance and easy to repair.
